Sven Asmus was born in Hamburg Germany, famous for its entertainment district and the place where the Beatles were discovered. After serving as a Nautical Officer in the German Navy he studied Marketing and Advertising. He worked with renowned photographers as an agent for an international modeling agency in the 80’s and soon found himself in front of the camera for an ad campaign, something he still does from time to time today.
After moving to Chicago in 1995, he began a long career in the luxury automotive world, working with brands like Mercedes Benz, Bentley, Lamborghini and eventually as Brand Manager for Rolls Royce in Chicago.
But art was always his secret passion and, a few years after meeting Arica Hilton, Sven left the automotive world for an opportunity to open up an art gallery in Chicago’s traditional art district “River North”. Their first opening was a hugely successful photo exhibit and photography grew organically to become a large part of the gallery's portfolio.
Coming of age in the 80’s and with a friend that owned one of Hamburg’s most legendary clubs, he enjoys Rock music over everything else and, since Hamburg is a major Seaport with more bridges than Venice and Amsterdam combined, he loves to spend his free time by or on the water. He is fluent in English and German.
